Frequently Asked Questions
What is a timeshare resort ?
A timeshare resort is a complex of apartments and units providing
accommodation and excellent on-site facilities for its residents/guests.
Most apartments are owned by private individuals who have purchased one, two
or three set weeks for each and every year.
Do I have to be an RCI member to stay at any
of these timeshare resorts ?
No, you are not required to be a member of RCI in order to enjoy the high
standard of accommodation and excellent on-site facilities provided by the
resorts.
Do we have to attend any meetings, seminars or presentations during
our stay ?
No, you will not be required to attend any such sales presentations,
unless of course you wish to do so.
I have seen apartments at resorts advertised at a cheaper rate
elsewhere, why ?
Some resorts are part timeshare and part hotel apartment. There is
a substantial difference between the quality of the apartments. All
our apartments are guaranteed timeshare units and are therefore of the most
superior quality. If you are not too fussed about the quality, then by
all means choose the option that your budget
allows. However, if you are looking for a little luxury then we
recommend you choose a quality timeshare apartment.
What does the price include ?
The price includes your apartment for the duration you have booked it for
and is priced per apartment (not per person).
Are there any extras ?
Some resorts do require a security deposit or credit card impression at
check-in. Other resorts charge fees for use of some of the on-site
amenities. Occupancy tax and utility surcharge are also common for many
resorts. Usually these fees are noted on the resort information pages and on
the accommodation voucher provided to you. Still some resorts require a
mandatory or optional all-inclusive package. Please read the full resort
description provided to learn about such fees before booking a reservation.
Are there any age restrictions ?
Yes, some resorts do impose age restrictions. Officially you must
be at least 21 years of age to check-in; however there may be some resorts
that require a minimum of 23 years of age at time of check-in. Again, this
will be noted on the resort information pages and on your accommodation
voucher. If in doubt, please call us to check.
Are babies accommodated free of charge ?
No, all babies and children are counted as one person, regardless of age.
If a 1 bedroom apartment can accommodate a maximum of 4 occupants, then this
will include all adults, children and infants. The maximum occupancy
should never be exceeded as you may be refused entry at check in. Some
resorts may charge nominal fees for infant cots whilst other resorts may
provide them free of charge. You will need to confirm this with the
resort. Any fees will be payable direct to the resort.
Are there any under-occupancy supplements ?
No, there are no under-occupancy supplements. You may wish to book
a 2 bedroom apartment even if there is only the one person travelling.
Just ensure that you never exceed the maximum occupancy level.
I cannot find any accommodation for the dates I require when I search
?
Availability is constantly changing from minute to minute. Units
can appear and disappear in the blink of an eye. If you are tired of
searching, then why not make use of our monitoring service. We monitor
constantly 24 hours a day for particular unit sizes at particular resorts
for specific dates. Although this is an extremely successful service,
we are unable to guarantee that your requirements will actually materialise.
How can I book ?
You can either call us, email us or visit our online booking engines
available at www.medresorts.net and
www.worldwidehotelsonline.co.uk
How do I pay ?
All reservations must be paid in full at the time of booking, whether by
using our online booking engines or if you call us. We accept
Mastercard, Visa, Visa Delta, Solo, Switch/Maestro.
How do I receive my confirmation ?
An confirmation email will automatically be sent to you if you have made
your reservation via our online booking engine. We will then issue your
accommodation voucher shortly after. If we are extremely busy, there
may be a little delay but we do try to avoid any lengthy delays.
What do I need to do with the accommodation voucher ?
You must present the accommodation voucher upon check in at the resort.
Without the voucher you may encounter delays and problems and even the
possibility of being refused entry. You may also be requested to pay
full rack rate in order to check-in, if the resort have availability.
Can I cancel a reservation after it has been confirmed ?
Of course you may cancel a reservation at any time. However, all
cancellations are subject to 100% cancellation charge. It is therefore
extremely important that you have travel insurance in place in the event of
a reservation having to be cancelled. If a property / or area becomes
unavailable due to an act of God or for any other unforeseen reason, we will
attempt to relocate you but are not obligated to do so. In such
circumstances we will of course refund the total amount.
Can I postpone the dates to later in the year rather than cancelling ?
Unfortunately, this is not possible.
Can I change the size of the unit I have booked if more people wish to
travel with me ?
If you need more space, we can attempt to secure another unit at the same
location but cannot guarantee space will be available.
What should I do if I will be a late arrival or will not arrive on the
scheduled check-in date ?
Not all resorts have a 24-hour check-in. If you anticipate a late arrival
or next day check-in, you must contact the resort and arrange for late
check-in instructions. If you arrive a day or two late, you will still need
to check-out on the scheduled check-out date.
What can I do if I require special needs at a resort or wish to make a
request (non-smoking, disabled, first floor etc) ?
We cannot guarantee that a resort will honour such requests. It is
suggested that you contact the resort on the Monday prior to arrival to
arrange, but please note that the resort may not be able to honour such
requests and we are not liable to issue a refund if a special request is not
able to be met by the resort. However, most resorts will try their
best to ensure all their clients are comfortable and happy.
I have contacted the resort and they do not have any details of my
booking - what should I do ?
All resorts handle their reservation systems in
different ways. In general, we advise that you call the resort 3 days
prior to your arrival date. If you contact the resort prior to this,
they may not have the full rooming details available and may advise you that
they do not have a booking in your name. This does not mean your
reservation does not exist, it just means that the unit may still be under
either RCI's name, a supplier's name or even
our own name. To avoid any unnecessary
worry, please call us immediately. We will investigate the reasons and
let you know as soon as possible. You can then contact the resort
again so that they can reassure you that your reservation is in full order.
